Known since the earliest times, the oud is the direct ancestor of countless plucked instruments – such as the lute and the guitar. It remains today one of the “royal” instruments of the oriental classical repertoire. And it still reigns proudly from Maghreb to Turkey, and from Greece to Armenia.
To honor the great masters who wrote the most beautiful pages of the long history of this instrument of legend, Philippe Bosset has developed very special strings based on premium nylon with a slow precision Silver (20 g ) plated copper winding. In addition, this winding is, of course, protected by an anti-sulfur coating ensuring greater durability and sound clarity, with a better capacity to stay in tune.
And for the tone to be absolutely perfect in every circumstance, these strings are provided in two ranges suitable for the “Arab” or the “Turkish” tunings.
